To Do List is built around local-first personal planning. Cloud sync is optional, account deletion is available in the app, and advertising is not part of the product.

Data Stored On Your Device

Your tasks, notes, categories, reminders, and note images are stored locally on your device by default. This content does not leave your device through To Do List unless you choose to sign in and use cloud sync.

Android Auto Backup is disabled for the app, reducing the chance that local To Do List data is copied into platform backups.

Optional Google Sign-In And Cloud Sync

Google sign-in is optional. If you sign in to sync, back up, restore, or use account-backed features, To Do List uses Firebase to store data for your signed-in account.

  • Basic Google profile information: name, email address, and profile photo URL.
  • Your synced tasks, notes, categories, reminders, and note images.
  • Your To Do List Pro entitlement status, if applicable.

Synced data is stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage under your account ID. The app uses this data only to provide sync, backup, restore, account deletion, and entitlement features.

Backup And Restore

To Do List also lets you back up and restore your data locally, without signing in. From Settings, you can export a backup file containing your tasks, notes, categories, reminders, and note images to a location you choose on your device using the Android file picker.

Restoring merges a previously exported backup file back into the app. This export and restore process happens entirely on your device: the backup file is never uploaded to To Do List or any third party, and no network access is required to create or restore one.

Analytics And Diagnostics

To Do List does not sell personal information and does not show ads. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are enabled to help us understand app health, improve reliability, and fix crashes.

Analytics and crash reports may include technical information such as app version, device model, operating system version, feature events, stack traces, and crash timing. They do not include the contents of your tasks, notes, categories, reminders, or images.

Permissions

  • Notifications are used to deliver reminders.
  • Exact alarm scheduling is used so reminders and repeating tasks notify you at the precise time you set.
  • Camera access is used only when you attach an image to a note.
  • Microphone access is used only when you use voice input.
  • Network access is used for optional cloud sync, sign-in, purchases, and service communication.

Data Deletion

Local data is removed when you delete the app or clear its app data. If you used Google sign-in, you can delete your account and synced cloud data from the app.

Children

To Do List is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
